Luma twinkled across the vast night sky. Below, the quiet village tucked its windows into darkness.
With every twinkle, Luma helped sleepy children find their dreams. Then a small sob floated up from one bright window.
Luma sent a bright beam toward the room. It bounced off a shiny spoon—blink, blink, blink!—and flashed across the ceiling.
But the girl still did not smile. Luma tried again, sending the light gently through the window.
Silver sparkles danced over the striped blanket. The curtains rustled, but the girl only looked up.
Luma shone brighter and softer than ever. A glowing path stretched from the sky to the girl’s pillow.
Pop! A tiny star-shaped sparkle landed on the blanket. The girl whispered, “A dream!”
The girl smiled and closed her eyes. Soon she drifted into sweet, wonderful dreams.
