Luma climbed under her star-shaped blanket and drifted off. A tiny Fox stepped out from behind her lamp.
The Fox flicked its tail toward the wall. It shimmered and peeled open, revealing a sky of glowing clouds.
The Fox leaped onto a softly glowing path. Luma followed, holding her blanket edge, and walked after it.
Moonlight sparkled on petals taller than she was. She took a step forward and the door closed behind her.
At the next bend, a Bear waved toward a tangled pile of glowing lantern strings. 'Try pulling one!' it called.
Luma tugged a string free and the lanterns swung upright, lighting the way. An Owl dropped a smooth blue stone into her hand.
A Rabbit hopped close and nudged her foot until she sat down on a cloud-soft patch of glowing grass.
A dandelion seed floated by. Luma caught it gently. She held the stone, the seed, and felt her eyelids grow heavy.
The dandelion seed drifted away. Luma smiled and let her head rest back against the blanket.
Luma woke up sitting up in her bed. The star-shaped blanket was warm around her shoulders.
Her hands felt just a little braver than when she went to sleep.
She tucked the blanket up to her chin, closed her eyes, and dreamed of glowing paths and brave new worlds.
