Luna looked up at the moon. Plip! A tiny falling star dropped into the glowing flowers.
Luna knelt and gently scooped up the star. The petals blinked like little lanterns.
Luna carried the star toward the tallest garden hill. Then it wiggled free and zipped beneath a leafy fern.
Luna crawled after it as silver leaves swished overhead. “Wait!” she whispered.
Boing! The star bounced into twinkling flowers. Luna followed its bright hops, shielding it with both hands.
The star hopped up the hill. Luna hurried after it, and moonlight painted her yellow dress.
At the hilltop, Luna lifted the star toward the sky. A soft gust blew it from her hands.
Luna reached through the swirling leaves and caught it. The garden went dark for one quiet moment.
Luna stretched high and released the star. It flashed back to the moon.
Every flower burst into color—pink, blue, gold! Luna twirled in her white shoes as tiny sparks danced around her.
