Beyond the old wooden fence, a meadow unfolds — waves of purple, yellow, and pink flowers swaying in the warm breeze.
Luna hops over the fence and stops. Her ears perk up. The meadow is even more beautiful up close.
She steps into the flowers. Purple blossoms brush her sides. Yellow ones nod like they are saying hello.
A butterfly flutters down. It lands right on her nose! Luna's nose tickles. 'Ah—AH-CHOO!' The butterfly flutters away. 'Oops,' giggles Luna.
The butterfly flutters away. Luna watches it go. Then she giggles and hops after it, deeper into the flowers.
She tiptoes past a sleeping squirrel. Then she hears a tiny cry. A bluebird is tangled in spider silk.
Luna presses her paws into the silk and pulls. It snaps. The bird fluffs its feathers and hops in a happy circle.
The bluebird chirps and flies toward a patch of white flowers in the center. Luna follows.
The white flowers glow. Soft golden light pulses from their petals like tiny lanterns.
Luna leans close. The golden light tickles her whiskers. She wiggles her ears. 'So warm,' she thinks.
Luna picks one glowing flower gently in her teeth. She turns and hops back toward the fence.
The meadow shimmers behind her. Luna hops faster, the glowing flower held safe in her mouth.
Luna drops the flower on her windowsill. She curls up beside it and watches the golden light pulse.
The light pulses — once, twice. Luna's breathing slows. Her paws twitch. She is dreaming of flowers.
Once more the light pulses. And then it glows steady and soft, like a nightlight for the little bunny.
