Beneath the park bench, Luna spotted a teddy bear. She scooped it up before the wind could carry it away.
The swings creaked nearby. Luna hugged the dusty bear and looked toward the cozy neighborhood.
Luna carried the bear to a weathered front door. She raised one hand to knock.
Knock, knock. Her finger tapped the wood, but the door rattled. Luna pulled her hand back.
Luna tried again, louder. The teddy bear slipped, bumped down the step, and rolled toward a flowerpot.
Luna caught it just in time. She held the bear close and whispered, “I found you.”
The weathered door swung open. A child reached for the bear, and Luna held it out.
The child hugged the bear. Ping! Its loose button popped off, and both children burst into laughter.
They searched beneath the porch. At last, Luna found the button beside a bright yellow leaf.
The child invited Luna to sit on the doorstep. Together, they sewed the button back on as the cozy door creaked behind them.
