Luna pressed her eye to the telescope in the backyard. The lens blinked once — then zapped her in a flash of silver light.
Luna floated above her roof, her hair drifting like seaweed in an ocean of stars. They tumbled past her like sprinkles on a giant cupcake.
A comet with a crooked tail and a crooked grin zoomed toward her. "Hop on!" it said, and Luna grabbed its tail.
They bounced over a planet doing the cha-cha. Its rings clacked like castanets with every spin.
The comet dove past a ring of sneezing aliens. The biggest one went "Ah-CHOO!" and covered Luna's hair in glitter.
Luna giggled until her tummy hurt. The comet did a loop-de-loop to shake the glitter off her hair.
The comet swooped Luna back through her bedroom window and tucked her under the quilt. The telescope gave one sleepy blink.
Luna smiled. Her hair still sparkled with alien glitter. She closed her eyes and dreamed of the stars.
