Luna pushed open the gate and stepped into the yard. Her bare feet pressed against the warm stones.
A shimmer of blue wings darted between the palm fronds. Luna gasped and looked up.
She followed the blue butterfly along the dirt path. It fluttered over a patch of clover.
She crouched down — but the butterfly zipped away, heading for the garden wall! "Wait!" Luna called.
Luna climbed over the low brick ledge and landed softly in the flower garden.
She reached for a red poppy, but the butterfly darted higher. It landed on a pink rose and opened its wings wide.
Luna spun in a circle with her arms wide, chasing the butterfly between the flower rows.
The butterfly landed right on her nose. She froze — then let out a great "Achoo!" and the butterfly flew away.
Luna sat cross-legged among the blooms. The butterfly rested gently on her knee.
She watched the butterfly, then the sky, then the whole bright garden. A smile spread across her face.
