Lupo crouched low, then sprang. His paws slid on the smooth cushion. *Poof!* He landed on the rug.
He shook his tiny head. Ears flopped. He sniffed the air—feathers! He looked up at the high ledge.
Lupo dug his claws into the fabric. *Scritch-scratch*. He scrambled upward.
His nose twitched. A sweet, avian scent drifted down. He paused, hanging in mid-air.
He pulled himself onto the cushion. There lay a bright blue feather. He nudged it with his wet nose.
*Ah-choo!* The feather floated away like snow. The scent grew stronger, leading toward the window.
A gust whistled through the open window. The feather danced away. Lupo scrambled after it—*thump*!
He landed in a pile of warm blankets. They swirled around him. He wasn't big, but he had caught it.
He curled up in a sunbeam. The feather rested against his chest. The room was huge, but he fit right there.
He closed his eyes. Tomorrow would bring new adventures. He dreamed of a playground.
