Leaa played on the living room floor. Mom came in. "Tonight we're going to a party," she said.
"Will Sara come?" Leaa asked. Mom smiled. "Yes!" Leaa jumped up and gave her a big squeeze.
Leaa put on the sparkly dress. The polka-dot socks went on last. Look at those shine!
In the car, Leaa pressed their nose to the window. The wind played with their hair. Honk honk!
The car stopped. Leaa stepped out and looked up at the front door. There was someone waving!
"Sara!" Leaa called and ran toward the door. The adult let go and Leaa sprinted across the yard.
They collided in the biggest hug ever. Both of them laughed until their bellies shook. What a night!
The house smelled like cake and happiness. Leaa knew this was going to be the best night ever.
