Maro pushed through the bush and found something shiny in the dirt. A brass compass! He wiped the mud off and turned the golden ring.
The compass began to hum. His eyes widened as a green swirl opened at his feet. Before he could step back, it pulled him in!
Maro landed on soft moss beneath giant ferns. He stared at a tiny T-Rex with oversized feet. His mouth formed a silent 'oh.'
The baby dinosaur stumbled closer and let out a squeaky 'Raaawr!' Maro knelt down. 'Hey there, little friend,' he whispered.
Maro checked his compass but the needle was frozen. He couldn't find his way home. He pocketed the compass and followed the baby T-Rex deeper into the jungle.
They crossed a bubbling stream and ducked under a low-hanging vine. The baby T-Rex trotted happily ahead, its tail swishing.
A loud CRASH echoed through the trees! The baby T-Rex had gotten its head stuck in a hollow log.
Maro tugged and pulled at the log until—POP! The T-Rex shook itself free and nuzzled his shoulder. The compass in his pocket began to glow.
Maro stepped through the green portal and landed back in his garden. The brass compass sat quietly on the grass.
In his pocket, he found three smooth dinosaur eggs and a tiny tooth. He smiled and ran toward his house, his boots still muddy from the jungle.
