Merry’s little boat glided into Nantucket Harbor. Lights twinkled on every branch, and families along the waterfront called, “Look!”
The star bobbed in the breeze. “Look at that shining tree!” a child called, waving from the pier.
Merry floated past decorated boats and cozy cottages. Bells jingled, children cheered, and the little boat gave a happy bob.
Merry shone toward each window. He thought, “Every cottage has a little Christmas light.”
Whoosh! The tide pulled Merry away from the glowing waterfront. The Stroll’s music grew faint across the dark water.
Merry’s lights flickered across the waves. “Can anyone see me?” he wondered as the music faded.
Lanterns lifted along the shore. Townspeople pointed, waved, and guided Merry back between the decorated boats.
A gust flipped Merry’s star upside down. Then he sparkled like a tiny Christmas comet.
Merry reached the center of Nantucket Harbor and shone brightly for everyone. Bells rang, boats twinkled, and every waterfront window glowed together.
Merry’s little boat joined the celebration. Across the harbor, lights answered lights, and the Christmas Stroll rang on.
