The sun shines on the park. Mia sits at a wooden picnic table and opens her lunchbox.
Inside the lunchbox — it is completely empty. Her purple dinosaur bumps the lid. Boop.
Mia's shoulders droop. She lets out a small 'oh.' The dinosaur taps her knee. Tap. Tap. Tap.
The dinosaur tips its head sideways and squeaks — 'RROOOAR!' Mia's mouth twitches. Then she giggles.
She buries the dinosaur in her lap and laughs until her cheeks hurt. The empty lunchbox is forgotten.
A boy at the next table peeks over. 'That's a funny dinosaur,' he says, holding up a brown paper bag.
He pulls out two apple slices and slides them across the table toward Mia.
Mia takes a bite — crunch. She offers one slice to the dinosaur, and the boy waves from his table.
