Mia patted the bed, then peeked under the quilt. “Mom, where is my teddy bear?”
Mom opened the toy basket. Mia dived in after her.
Blocks clattered. A soft sock landed on Mia’s head, and she giggled.
The teddy bear was not there. Mia looked on the table.
Mom checked behind the curtains. Crayon drawings fluttered in the breeze.
“Not here!” Mia said. The search moved to the chair.
Mia lifted the cushion—POP! Pillows tumbled over her and Mom.
One fuzzy brown ear! Mia pulled out the teddy bear and hugged it tight.
