Miko burst into the sunny park. "Celebration day!" he shouted. The children dropped their juice boxes and began spinning in happy circles. Butterflies fluttered louder than expected.
A bunny hopped over and tapped its paw against a fallen acorn. Tap, tap, tap. Miko grabbed two pinecones and drummed along. Tap, tap-tap!
The bunny leaped onto a mossy rock and led a marching parade around the flower beds. Miko followed, holding a dandelion like a flag. Two sparrows swooped down and joined the line.
Miko and his friends formed a giant dancing circle under the big oak tree. The bunny bounced inside the ring, and the sparrows looped overhead. Everyone sang until their voices grew hoarse.
Miko gathered his friends into a big group hug as the park grew quiet. The bunny curled up at his feet. The sparrows settled on a branch above. The last cricket began its evening song.
Miko whispered, "Today was perfect — and tomorrow will be too." The park glowed soft and still around him.
The sun dipped below the trees, and the park turned the color of honey. Miko held his dandelion flag tightly, already dreaming of the next celebration.
A cricket chirped once, twice, then a whole chorus rose from the flower beds. The park had fallen asleep, but Miko knew it would wake up ready for more fun.
Miko walked home with his dandelion tucked into his pocket. The path was quiet, but his heart felt light and full of tomorrow's plans.
He reached his front door and turned back to look at the park one last time. The oak tree stood dark and proud against the night sky.
Inside, Miko climbed into bed and pulled the covers up to his chin. The dandelion in his pocket smelled like sunshine and sweet grass.
Outside the window, the park slept under a blanket of stars. Tomorrow, the celebration would begin all over again.
