Friendship, teamwork, and finding home

Deep in the golden woods, Milo found the biggest acorn he had ever seen.

"It's so big!" he squeaked, pushing and tugging until his paws slid on the smooth shell.

Then he saw a tiny crack. He wedged a flat stone into it and tapped with a twig.

He pounded harder — POP! The acorn split in two and rolled into the wildflowers.

"We need a roof!" Milo called to his friends. Pip the fox and Lulu the hedgehog came racing over.

Pip gathered broad leaves and Lulu wove dry grass over the acorn shell. Together they built a little house.

Summer rain pattered against the leaf roof. The little house creaked and settled comfortably.

Inside, the three friends sat on a bed of clover and listened to the drumming rain above them.

They giggled at the sound. It was the best house in the whole forest.

Outside, the little acorn house glowed warm and golden in the dappled afternoon light.

Pip curled up on one side, Lulu on the other, and Milo tucked into the soft clover in the middle.

The forest grew quiet. The little house nestled among the flowers, keeping its friends safe and warm through the night.
