Milo pressed his nose to the tree line. A silver leaf drifted down from nowhere. It landed on his paw and glowed like a tiny lantern.

Milo chased the silver leaf through tall grass. It zipped left. It zipped right. Then it vanished behind a thick bush. Milo peeked inside.

Inside, another silver leaf waited. It bounced over roots and dipped under branches. Milo reached out — it dropped into a hole.

Milo squeezed through the hole. A circle of fireflies spun above mushrooms. Their lights flashed in time. One landed on his nose. It tickled. He giggled.

Milo sat down in the soft grass. The fireflies kept circling. Silver leaves drifted around him like snow.

He wiggled his tail. The mushrooms hummed. He thought this was the best spot in the whole forest.

One by one, the fireflies slowed. They settled on the mushrooms like tiny stars. Milo's eyelids grew heavy.

The forest whispered around him. Moonlight painted everything silver. Milo dreamed of leaves that glowed and fireflies that danced.
