Milo ran through the house with his arms wide. "Hugs!" he called. "Hugs for everyone!"
He reached Benja, but the young boy was busy balancing blocks on his head. The tower wobbled and fell with a soft thud.
Milo tiptoed to the kitchen and wrapped his arms around Mom's legs. She lifted him onto the counter. "Not now, Milo," she said, still stirring.
Milo hopped down and watched the bubbles pop in the soup. Then he found Grandmother and Grandfather reading in the armchair.
He tried to squeeze between them, but they were too snug. Grandfather laughed and ruffled Milo's hair. "Maybe later, little one."
Milo spotted Bauti crawling and scooped him up, but Bauti giggled and reached for a shiny spoon. Milo wobbled and tumbled onto the couch in a heap.
Everyone looked down at him. Milo sat up, Bauti on his hip, and said "Hugs?" They all started laughing.
They all piled onto the couch together. Milo rested his head on Grandmother's shoulder and watched Benja's fingers trace the words. "We're all here," Benja said. Milo grinned.
