Milo pushed open the brand-new classroom door. Chairs scraped, children chattered, and a pencil cup tipped. Clatter, clatter!
Milo ducked behind a big book and gripped it tightly. The noisy room roared around him.
Milo peeked over the book. A girl by the door cried, “I can’t find the library!” Her map hung upside down.
The girl asked two children for help. They hurried past with a rolling globe. Bonk! It bumped a chair.
Milo closed the book. He pointed toward the hallway, then pointed to himself. “I can help.”
Milo walked beside the girl, holding her map. At the hallway fork, he stopped and took a deep breath.
Milo listened. Squeak, squeak! The library cart rolled from the left hallway.
Milo led the girl into the library and opened the door. Shelves towered around them, and a book slid down. Plop!
