Milo pulled his quilt up to his chin and clicked off the lamp. Moonlight pooled silver on his pajama feet.
A tiny star dropped from the ceiling like a falling leaf. It landed on the nightstand with a soft chime.
Milo sat up and reached for it. The star wiggled free and zipped toward the window.
He jumped out of bed and chased the star across the rug. Bare feet silent on the wooden floor.
The star looped around the doorframe and hovered just out of reach. Milo tiptoed after it.
The star floated upward. Milo's toes lifted off the ground too. He gasped as the blanket drifted down.
The whole room filled with hundreds of sparkling stars. Each one hummed a soft lullaby tune.
Milo laughed and spun in the air, grabbing handfuls of starlight. It tingled like warm bubbles on his fingers.
One star nibbled his nose. Milo sneezed — a burst of golden sparkles exploded everywhere.
Milo floated higher into the shimmering dreamland. The stars sang him a soft sleepy song.
He drifted among the glowing constellations, wrapped in soft starlight. This was his very own dreamworld.
Milo sank into the quiet dreamland. The stars kept their soft song until morning.
