Milo chased a sparkling butterfly through the trees. The light danced between the leaves as he ran deeper into the forest.
The butterfly vanished. Before Milo, glowing numbers bounced across the grass like little frogs. He reached for a leaping 3, and it tickled his fingers before hopping away.
Milo walked deeper and heard a musical hum. A line of colorful letters stood on a mossy log, singing together. A red A bowed and a blue M winked at him.
The letters spelled H-O-M-E, then G-U-E-S-S, then T-R-Y. Milo clapped along as the forest hummed with their song.
A stone wall blocked his path. A triangle, a square, and a circle rolled over and clicked together to form a bridge. But the circle wobbled and rolled away, sending the bridge tumbling into a patch of giggling dandelions.
Milo sighed and picked a dandelion. He blew, and its seeds floated down until one landed on a stone with a glowing puzzle drawn on it.
The puzzle was missing a number, a letter, and a shape. Milo called out, and all three came back — the bouncing 3, the singing letters, and the rolling shapes.
They leaped, hummed, and clicked into the empty slots. The stone cracked open with a soft pop, revealing a door made of starlight.
Milo's hand hovered on the knob as the door began to fade. He took a deep breath and stepped through.
Milo tumbled onto his own backyard grass. The sparkling butterfly landed softly on his nose. He grinned and sat up.
Milo waved at the trees. Just beyond the leaves, a tiny glowing 3 did a little hop, an M hummed, and a triangle waved back.
Milo patted his pocket, where a smooth stone puzzle piece kept him company. Then he walked toward home.
