Night fell over the little house. Warm light glowed from one upstairs window.
Mina peeked into her brother's room. He was frowning at his new raincoat.
He tugged the zipper up. It stuck halfway. 'Stupid coat,' he grumbled.
Mina pulled up a chair and sat beside him. She wrapped her fingers around the tab.
She tugged. ZZZZZzip! It stuck again. 'Almost there,' she said.
She tried once more — pulling from the bottom this time.
The zipper whooshed down. The raincoat puffed out — BONK! Right on his head.
He froze. Then he burst out laughing, kicking his feet against the bedframe.
Mina helped him slip out of the coat and fold it neatly on the chair.
He climbed into his warm pajamas and yawned so wide his eyes squinted shut.
'Goodnight, Mina,' he mumbled, already half-asleep. She tucked the blanket around him.
Mina whispered goodbye and stepped into the hallway. The house was quiet at last.
