Mira sits at a big wooden table covered in crayons, markers, and stacks of white paper. She picks up a blue crayon and starts to draw.
She draws a bright blue square. Then she waits. But the paper stays still and silent.
She taps the page with her finger. The crayon scratches softly. Nothing happens.
Mira closes her eyes. She imagines the blue square bouncing like a ball. When she opens them, it wiggles!
The square hops right off the page and bounces on the rug. Boing. Boing. Mira's mouth drops open.
Mira giggles. She grabs a yellow crayon and draws a sun, imagining it warm and glowing.
The sun pops off the page and bathes the studio in golden light, warm on her cheeks.
Next she draws a green tree that rustles its leaves, and a little dog that zooms around her shoes. Zoom, zoom, zoom!
Mira grabs her biggest crayon — a giant purple one — and draws a tall tower reaching toward the ceiling.
The tower wobbles, groans, and tips over with a loud CRASH! Mira covers her ears.
Mira takes a deep breath. She picks up a fresh sheet of paper and draws a small house with a door.
The house stays standing, cozy and quiet. Mira smiles.
She draws more — a garden, a playground, a little bench — and fills the studio with wonderful adventures.
Mira looks around her studio, smiling. There is room for everyone to share the adventures.
