Lights out. Hmm… why does the room look so different now? The chair seems taller, the shelf darker. Mitu pulls the blanket up to the nose and peeks out, very quietly.

There's a big monster shadow in the corner — tall and still, not moving at all. Mitu holds their breath. Thump, thump goes the little heart. What could it be?

Mitu takes a deep, deep breath, then lets it out slowly. "Wait a minute — I have my star flashlight!" One little hand reaches out and grabs it tight.

Click! The star light shines, and a warm golden glow pushes the dark away. The monster shadow… is just a coat on the coat stand! Mitu bursts out laughing. "Phew!"

Mitu becomes a Night Detective — bending low, tiptoeing softly, checking every corner. Under the desk, beside the bookshelf, behind the curtain… not one hiding spot will be missed!

What's under the bed? The star light shines in — just fluffy slippers, a little bouncy ball, and some sleepy dust bunnies. "Ha! Caught you!" Mitu giggles into the quiet.

Who's hiding behind the curtain? Swish — Mitu pulls it open. It's Mister Moon peeking in with his round silver face! Mitu waves the flashlight hello. "Good evening, Mister Moon!"

Mitu discovers the dark is full of tiny twinkling secrets. The ceiling stars glow softly, the fish tank shines gentle blue. Lying back on the rug, Mitu whispers, "So pretty…"

Mitu lifts Teddy up and tells him softly: "The dark isn't scary at all. It's just a big soft blanket, tucking the whole world in nice and warm."

The star light keeps watch on the nightstand, like a tiny golden guard. Mitu closes both eyes, thinking of Mister Moon and all the twinkling secrets, and drifts off to sleep, safe and sound.
