Danna pulled the big family blanket across the living room floor. “Come play!” she called.
The blanket caught on a chair. Rip-scritch! Danna grabbed one corner while the family grabbed another.
Danna led the blanket train around the sofa. “All aboard!” called the family.
Bump! The train nudged a cushion, and soft pillows flew everywhere. Danna laughed.
Danna built a fort with chairs, cushions, and the blanket. Soon, everyone crawled inside.
A playful breeze lifted the blanket roof. Everyone ducked as the stuffed toy tumbled down.
Danna chased the rolling toy. It slipped under the table and pulled the fort apart.
The fort was gone. Danna sat beside the scattered cushions and whispered, “Our fort is gone.”
Danna gathered the family close. Together, they rebuilt the fort around the table.
Inside, Danna shared a snack. She giggled at the crooked roof and snuggled close as play filled the room.
