The meadow stretched wide and golden, tall grass waving like gentle waves in the warm breeze.
Naila pushed through the tall grass, her hands parting the stems until she spotted something gray and fluffy.
She knelt beside the bunny and whispered, 'Don't worry, I'll help you.' The bunny's ears drooped low.
Naila grabbed the vine and pulled, but it held fast. She tried again, bracing her foot against the earth.
'Help!' she called. A squirrel scurried down from a nearby branch, acorn in mouth.
The squirrel nibbled at the vines with sharp teeth. Chitter-chatter. The acorn dropped to the ground.
A blue-silver butterfly fluttered down and landed softly on Naila's shoulder.
The butterfly fluttered toward the bunny, circling the vine. It tapped one loop and zipped away.
Naila understood. She unwrapped the knot while the squirrel held the vine steady. The loop began to loosen.
But the bunny's foot stayed trapped. The butterfly fluttered urgently toward an old oak tree.
At the oak, Naila spotted a thin root running underground, connected to the vine. She tugged it.
With a soft pop, the vine sprang free! The bunny leaped up and shook its fur.
The bunny did a happy hop in a perfect circle, then nudged a clover sprig into Naila's hand.
Then it hopped away into the meadow, disappearing into the tall golden grass.
Naila sat in the grass, smiling at the clover. She tucked it into her pocket.
The tall grass swayed around her feet as she walked home. The meadow felt like a secret shared between friends.
