Oliver the lion cub peeked out of the den and gasped. The whole savanna was painted gold, and a bright red balloon floated just outside.
He tugged the string—it bounced him backward with a cheerful pop‑pop‑pop. Oliver grabbed the balloon and decided to follow it.
Oliver chased the balloon across the grass until it bumped against a bush. A small meerkat popped up holding a shiny acorn.
Oliver offered a playful swat. The meerkat giggled, dropping the acorn into Oliver’s tiny paw.
Oliver pocketed the acorn. The balloon lifted again, pulling him forward toward a babbling stream.
Oliver stretched and knocked the mango loose. It rolled straight into a termite mound—and with a soft shloop, the mound sprouted three sparkling dandelions.
Oliver picked one dandelion. The balloon tugged harder, yanking him off his feet toward a rocky outcrop.
Oliver landed at the base of a towering acacia tree. The balloon popped—and from behind the trunk stepped his parents and older cousins, holding a patchwork blanket and a cake made of sweet berries.
