The sun shone over the park. Mia grabbed her red camera and ran toward the blanket.
Snap! Her dad made a silly face, and everyone snorted with laughter. Mia grinned at the photo.
"Okay, everyone — smile!" Mia lined them up. But Dad kept wiggling and Mom kept reaching for sandwiches.
Mia tried again. This time her little brother had a cookie in each hand and refused to let go.
She arranged everyone like action figures. But Dad wiggled free, Mom checked the snacks, and the toddler started crying over a dropped cookie.
Mia's shoulders dropped. She let out a long breath. The camera felt heavy in her hands.
Then she lifted the camera again. Snap!
On the screen: Mom feeding Dad a grape. Dad making a face at the toddler. The toddler laughing with juice on his chin.
Her smile grew wider and wider. This was the real moment.
Mia put the camera down. She reached for her dad's hand.
They sat together on the blanket and looked at the photo. The park was quiet around them.
"This one's my favorite," Mia whispered.
