Pip raced across the sunny park and leaped onto the swings. The family pushed higher and higher.
Creeeak! The chains stretched toward the clouds. “Higher!” Pip shouted as birds chirped above.
Beside the green grass, the family spread a picnic under tall trees. Pip passed sandwiches and juicy apples while everyone laughed.
Whoosh! A napkin flew from the blanket and landed in a tree. Pip pointed up as laughter bubbled around the picnic.
Pip ran to the small pond. Ducks rippled the water, and the picnic basket waited nowhere in sight.
Pip turned back for a snack. The basket was gone. “Where did it go?” Pip pointed toward the playground.
Everyone searched together. They checked under the swings, behind a tree, and beside the pond.
A breeze rolled the basket downhill. Bump, bump! It wobbled into a bush, and Pip grabbed the handle.
“Hooray!” everyone cheered. Pip carried the basket back up the hill while the family followed close behind.
Under the trees, the family shared the last sandwiches. Pip scooted close as the swings creaked and the pond sparkled nearby.
