Snow glittered across the polar playground. Beside the icy path sat a purple pail.
Penny scooped up the pail. “P-p-penguin! P-p-pail!” Clank, clank went the pail against the ice.
More P words! Penny waddled toward the little pond, carrying the pail.
“P-p-purple pail! P-p-pond!” Penny pointed. A pebble skipped across the water. Plip!
Penny bent down and picked up three more pebbles. Plip, plip, plip!
Penny placed the pebbles in the pail. Plunk, plunk, plunk! Then the pail tipped.
The pebbles rolled down the slippery path. Penny chased them, flapping wings as snow sprayed everywhere.
Penny caught the last pebble and lifted the pail high. A gust flipped the empty pail over Penny’s head.
“P-p-penguin!” Penny called from inside. The pail echoed, “Penguin!”
Penny pulled off the pail and gathered the pebbles. “Penguin, pail, purple, pond!”
The pebbles sat in the pail. Nearby, the pond sparkled. “P-p-penguin, p-p-pail!” Penny practiced again.
P sounds rang across the snowy playground: penguin, pail, purple, pond. Plip, plunk, pop!
