On a sunny morning, Pip found a basket in the grass. The flowers nearby were bright red and yellow.
Pip picked up the basket. He carried it through the garden, humming to himself.
He picked up a red flower and a yellow one. A butterfly landed on the yellow flower. Pip held very still.
The butterfly fluttered away. Pip kept walking, one flower, two, three. But the basket was getting heavy.
He tipped forward. The basket wobbled and petals spilled everywhere. Pip knelt down and gathered them up again.
Pip carried the basket to his grandmother's house. He arranged the flowers on the windowsill.
His grandmother looked out the window. She saw the flowers. Her smile spread wide and slow.
Pip sat beside his grandmother. They watched the flowers together on the sunny windowsill.
The butterfly came back. It hovered over the flowers on the windowsill. Pip whispered, 'Hello again.'
The grandmother's smile stayed. Pip smiled back. The butterfly danced around the flowers one more time.
