The meadow stretched wide and golden under the morning sun. At its heart lay the pink lagoon, shimmering like strawberry milk.
Pip the unicorn trotted through the tall grass. She padded toward the water, her hooves clicking softly on the smooth stones.
Splash! A pink shape rose from the lagoon. It was Fifi the flamingo, stretching her long legs.
Quack! Hello! Fifi called. Pip froze, one hoof still lifted from the warm water.
Fifi did a loop-the-loop in the air. Then she dove back down, sending pink water flying everywhere.
Pip shook herself dry and chased Fifi around the lagoon. They raced in circles, splashing and laughing.
Suddenly, Fifi's leg got tangled in a reed. She wobbled and let out a thin squeak. Pip carefully untangled the reed with her horn.
Fifi wrapped her wing around Pip's neck. They sat together at the water's edge, watching the pink ripples dance.
