Pip hopped across the meadow, nibbling clover beneath the first stars. Suddenly, a silver streak flashed down and landed with a tiny PING!
Pip froze beside the sparkling patch. The night breeze rustled the clover, and Pip leaned closer to listen.
Pip reached toward the star, but ZIP! It darted beneath a tall tuft of grass. Pip followed, ears bobbing as soft twinkles chimed ahead.
Pip dug under the grass with both paws. Dirt popped everywhere—and the star bounced onto Pip’s head like a shiny hat!
The star rolled away toward a dark hill. Pip hopped after it, glitter flickering across the meadow with every turn.
Pip climbed the hill, stopping whenever the star slipped behind a rock. “Where are you?” Pip whispered.
The rock gave a sudden SPARKLE! Pip scooted back as tiny lights began dancing across the sky.
Pip hopped around the rock and found a glowing trail to the hilltop. Pip followed it through the cool grass.
At the hilltop, the fallen star lifted from the grass. With one bright WHOOSH, it joined the stars overhead.
Pip watched the star twinkle overhead, then hopped home through the moonlit meadow. Pip stopped to nibble clover and look up again.
