Pip chased a blue butterfly all through the meadow.
The butterfly landed on a clover. Pip sat down hard, his tail dragging in the dirt. "I want to find happiness," he said.
Pip scrambled up Sunny Hill. But there was only a grazing sheep far below.
Pip slumped. His paw knocked a stone into the thicket. A mouse tumbled out wearing a dandelion fluff wig, and waved before scurrying away.
Pip asked the rabbits to play. But they vanished into their burrow.
Pip kicked a pinecone. It rolled into a hollow. A frog popped up, croaking a silly tune.
Pip pushed open the den door. His family chased dust motes in a sunbeam.
They waved him over. Pip curled up beside his sister. His tail gave a single thump.
Pip nuzzled his sister. They giggled as a dust mote landed on his nose.
Pip's tail wagged slowly. "I think I found it," he whispered.
The den filled with the sound of their laughter.
Outside, the meadow glowed golden and quiet. Inside, the little fox was home.
