Pippin tiptoed through the sunny green forest. Tiny cries floated through the trees — his babies were so hungry.
He followed the sound deeper into the woods. His little ones were crying again. He had to find food fast.
He found a bush heavy with red berries — but they were too high! He stood on his tippy-toes and jumped. Splat!
The berries fell right into the puddle and rolled away. Pippin let out a long sigh. No berries meant no lunch.
He spied a patch of soft green leaves nearby and took a big bite. He spat it out immediately. Bitter!
He tried another leaf. Spat it out too. His tummy rumbled louder than ever. Something had to be sweet somewhere.
Then — under a wide leafy tree — he saw it. A enormous leaf curled like a boat, filled with sweet berries and tender greens.
He nudged the leaf onto his head and started waddling. A few berries slipped off and rolled down the hill behind him.
He set the leaf-boat down gently in front of his babies. They stopped crying right away and buried their faces in the feast.
Munch, munch, crunch. Happy little chewing sounds filled the quiet forest. Pippin thought — this time, dinner was a success.
One by one, the little dinos curled up against their parent. Sleepy belly rumbles replaced the earlier hungry cries.
The forest grew quiet and warm. Pippin rested his chin on his arms and watched over his sleeping babies.
