Pippi grabbed Tommy's hand. 'We're hunting treasure!' Her eyes were wide. A seagull cried overhead.
Pippi led Tommy past the tomato vines. She pointed at a hollow log. 'Keep your eyes open.' A shiny beetle landed on Tommy's nose.
They tumbled under the oak tree's roots. Pippi pulled out a crumpled map. Suddenly a monkey swung down and snatched it!
Pippi chased the monkey around the trunk. The horse whinnied. The monkey dropped the map right at Tommy's feet.
They followed the map's scribbled X through the path. Soon the trees opened up. The sandy cove appeared before them.
They sprinted across the warm sand. Waves lapped at their ankles. Pippi dug frantically with her hands.
She pulled out something sparkling. A dented bottle cap caught the sunlight and threw a rainbow glint across the water.
Pippi pressed the bottle cap into Tommy's palm. 'Now it's our treasure.' He held it up and admired every dent.
