Pip Pulse tumbled through a moon-bright doorway and landed beside a booming Heart. “THUMP-THUMP!” it called, sending a ruby river surging forward. Pip grabbed Blood’s waving hand, and together they swept into the shining current. Ahead, branching passages glowed like a maze beneath a magical crimson sky.
The Arteries whooshed Pip and Blood away from the Heart. “We carry Blood away from the Heart!” they announced. Red waves curled around Pip’s feet as the passages forked, twisted, and flashed. He held tight while the river raced toward a distant field of shimmering bridges.
Suddenly, the Arteries narrowed. Pip squeezed sideways as the walls gave a ridiculous, rubbery squeak. “Squeeeak!” Pip blinked, then scrambled onward. Ahead, thousands of tiny Capillaries unfolded like glittering bridges, each one reaching toward nearby cells.
Pip crawled across the Capillaries beside Blood. Tiny bridges carried oxygen and nutrients to nearby body cells, then gathered carbon dioxide for the return trip. Pip reached toward a sparkling oxygen bubble. PLOP! It burst, releasing a ticklish cloud that drifted toward the Lungs.
The Veins gathered Pip and Blood into deeper blue pathways. “We return Blood to the Heart!” they called. The current flowed steadily now, carrying the used air away from the busy cells. Behind them, the Capillaries shimmered like a fading constellation.
At the Lungs, Blood released its carbon dioxide. The paired organs lifted their teal scarves and drew in fresh oxygen from a sparkling silver breeze. Pip watched blue-gray bubbles drift away while bright bubbles joined Blood’s swirling stream. “Ready for another delivery!” Blood cried.
Refreshed Blood swirled onward, and Pip followed. The Heart waited beyond the branching pathways. Arteries stretched outward, Capillaries glittered between cells, Veins curved homeward, and the Lungs breathed bright air into the loop. Every route connected, every current had a purpose, and nothing stood still.
Pip arrived at the Heart just as it boomed, “THUMP-THUMP!” Blood surged away again, carrying Pip in the lively stream. “Arteries away! Capillaries share! Veins return! Lungs refresh!” the guides called. Pip cheered as the whole body hummed, and the next turn of the loop began.
