Pip wiggles across the burrow floor, one paw pressed to his tummy. He drops onto the little blue potty.
It creaks loudly and wobbles. Pip hops off immediately, ears flat, and scuttles behind the sofa.
Pip tries again two minutes later, perching with stiff legs and squeezing his eyes shut. Nothing happens.
The potty stays empty. Pip slides off and stands very still, tail twitching, wondering why it won't work.
A knock comes at the burrow door. Pip's best friend peeks in with a leaf-wrapped treat.
'You can do it, Pip — just like I do.' Pip watches the friend march bravely to the potty and cheer.
Pip takes a deep breath and tries once more.
Pip sits, takes a slow breath, and pushes with all his might — then his quills pop straight up with a soft *poof* sound.
A happy noise escapes, and the potty makes a cheerful plink. Pip's eyes go wide. He did it.
Pip hops off the potty and stands tall, quills laid smooth, tail held high.
He marches to the sink and washes his paws with a big smile.
The blue potty sits proud in the corner, and Pip pats it on the way out.
