Pip held the shiny acorn. Bramble reached for it.
They grabbed too hard. The acorn popped free and rolled into the brambles. Pip cried, 'You made it disappear!'
Bramble huffed and crossed his arms.
Pip stomped to the berry bushes and turned his back. Bramble walked under the old oak tree and wouldn't look around.
The wind whispered through the leaves.
Dark clouds rumbled. Rain started to fall.
Pip watched from under the oak roots. Bramble's ears drooped. His quills flattened as he shivered under a broad leaf.
Pip grabbed his red scarf and ran into the storm.
Mud squelched between his toes.
Pip threw the scarf over Bramble's shoulders. Bramble's quills perked up with a surprised squeak.
Bramble wrapped the red scarf around both of them.
The lost acorn rolled out from the brambles and came to rest between their paws. They looked at each other and burst into giggles.
