In a cozy woodland clearing, two little hedgehog friends play under the old oak tree. Their favorite spot has tall grass and a patch of mushrooms.
Pip and his best friend both reach for the juiciest berry. Their quills bristle as they tug. "Mine!" Pip says.
"I saw it first!" his friend shouts. The berry pops free and rolls into the tall grass.
Pip waits by the mushroom patch, holding out a shiny pebble. But his friend walks past without a word.
Pip tries again with a dandelion, then an acorn cap. Each time, his friend turns away. The wind rustles the tall grass.
Pip sees his friend sitting alone under the old oak tree, shoulders slumped. He takes a deep breath.
Pip offers half of a fresh apple. His friend looks up, eyes wide, then sneezes and giggles. Pip giggles too.
They share the apple, crunching happily. Their laughter echoes through the clearing. They race around the old oak tree together.
