A tiny green frog leapt from a lily pad and landed on Pip's back.
She adjusted her wings and kept walking. Each step careful along the pond's edge.
She headed toward the reeds, where a faint croak echoed.
Pip pushed through the tall reeds. The frog let out a soft ribbit. Ahead, lily pads drifted apart in the choppy water.
'Little frog, where are you?' Her voice trembled against the rustling reeds.
The frog nuzzled her feathers. Pip swam faster, her webbed feet splashing like tiny drums.
Through a gap in the reeds, Pip saw two larger frogs on a broad lily pad.
They hopped forward together, throats puffing with eager ribbits. The tiny frog wriggled, leaped into the air, and landed right between its parents.
The tiny frog peeked over Pip's shoulder and let out a cheerful ribbit.
Pip smiled, tucked her wings close, and drifted on her back, watching the ripples spread across the pond.
