Pip found a shimmering map tangled in a cloud. He tugged it free. The paper crinkled loudly in the silent sky.
He flew toward a jagged crystal spire. A thick fog bank blocked his path. The mist swirled around his wings, blinding him.
He spotted a narrow gap between two floating islands and dove through. Wind whistled past his ears. He emerged dizzy but determined.
A friendly cloud-rabbit hopped onto his wing, pointing a fluffy ear toward the summit. The rabbit offered a glowing crystal flower. Pip chirped a thank you.
He reached the summit, but the map pointed to an empty spot above the rock. A gust flipped the map over. It showed three smiling faces. He looked down and saw the rabbit and two new bird friends waving below.
Pip folded the map and landed beside the rabbit. The sunset painted the clouds in warm orange and pink hues. He chirped happily. The view was better when shared.
