Pip squeezed through the gap in the garden fence. *Boof!* He tumbled onto the cobblestone street.
Something glinted between two stones. A silver button! Pip pawed at it — but it rolled away with a soft clink.
The button rolled toward the dusty old market. Pip followed, ears forward, tail held high.
He caught the button and held it up. It sparkled like a tiny mirror! 'Ooh,' he thought.
He batted the button under a flower box. A red marble bounced out!
Pip chased the marble right into the trinket stall. He sniffed a brass key — it clicked against a tin cup.
A sweet smell of lavender drifted through the air. Pip bumped a stack of wooden spools — one fell open!
Pip wound the blue thread around his paws and tugged. The spool unraveled completely — wrapping the button, marble, and key into a shiny knot!
He shook his head. *Clatter-jingle!* The knot bumped against his chest with a musical sound.
Pip sat back and looked at his tangled treasure. His eyes went wide.
He picked up the knot by the thread and carried it home, step by careful step.
Pip settled into his favorite sunny spot. His treasure glimmered right beside him.
