Popo walks down the dusty red path. His prize giant eggplant gleams purple under his arm. Ting-ting-ting! The school bell rings.
Inside the thatched school, the teacher holds up a planting guide. Popo thrusts his eggplant forward. 'Look!' he says.
The teacher nods kindly. 'That is a lovely eggplant, Popo. But first, can you read this?'
Popo squints at the planting guide. The letters dance on the page. He taps the paper with his finger.
Outside, a parrot calls, 'Read it, Popo!' Popo's ears turn pink.
The teacher gently places a hand on Popo's shoulder. 'Take your time, Popo.'
Popo takes a deep breath. He points to the first word. 'P-P-PLANTING,' he says.
Popo reads the next word. Then the next. The teacher's eyes grow wide with delight. The letters stop dancing.
