Potato stomps into his favorite patch of clover — but Fluffypaws is already there. His hooves sink into thick mud. "Baa-argh!" he tries, but only a squeak comes out.
Potato marches to Woolly, Fluffy, and Snowball. "We're going to find Rainbow Creek!" he announces. The four of them turn toward the misty hills beyond the farm.
They climb. And climb. Potato leads, Woolly follows, then Fluffy, then Snowball. The grass gets taller. The path gets twistier. The mist wraps around their legs like a blanket.
At last — a flash of color! Rainbow Creek sparkles ahead, but it's not water at all. It's a herd of peacocks fanning their tails. They strut away. Potato's ears droop.
The mist swallows the sky. Thick. White. Gone. Woolly vanishes left. Fluffy vanishes right. Snowball vanishes behind a bush. Potato is alone.
Potato trembles. The fog is so thick he can't see his own hooves. He closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and walks forward — one step, then another.
A bleat. Then another. Potato calls back. Woolly's wool catches on a branch — pull, tug, free! Fluffy and Snowball follow the sound. All four are together again.
They walk home through the thinning mist. The farm fence appears. Warm light from the barn. Potato leads the way, head high, hooves steady on the path.
