Prathin leaps from the side of his aeroplane and grabs a thick green vine. The wind rushes past his ears, and the jungle canopy sways wildly above him.
He climbs down the swaying vine and lands softly on a carpet of bright moss. A cluster of blue flowers pulses with a gentle glow, humming like tiny bells.
Prathin crouches beside the glowing flowers and reaches out a finger. A chatty parrot with emerald feathers swoops down, mimicking his quiet breath.
'Hello, hello!' the parrot repeats, then flutters toward a patch of golden grass where two small frogs giggle.
Prathin follows the giggling frogs deeper into the jungle. They hop over roots that tickle his shoes and stop before a narrow path hidden behind a curtain of silver leaves.
He pushes through the silver leaves and gasps as a whole grove of glowing trees lights up around him. The trees hum in harmony, and soft spores drift down like floating stars.
The glow fades and the grove goes dark. The parrot squawks, 'Dark! Dark!' while the frogs hide under broad leaves. Prathin picks up a single glowing spore and watches it flicker in his palm.
Prathin holds the spore up like a tiny lantern and steps forward. The spore's light touches a cluster of purple moss, which blooms and glows, revealing a hidden waterfall.
Water sparkles as it crashes into a pool lined with smooth, glowing stones. Prathin sits on a glowing stone and sketches the waterfall in his notebook.
That evening, he spreads his drawings on the bedroom floor and tells his little sister about the singing flowers, the giggling frogs, and the secret falls. She leans closer, eyes wide, as Prathin turns the last page.
