Rain drummed on the roof. Puddles perked up his ears. He heard the happy sound of water.
He waddled to the window. A silver puddle sparkled in the garden. 'What a perfect jumping spot,' he thought.
Puddles grabbed the yellow umbrella from the hook. It was his favorite. 'Time for a splash!' he decided.
He stepped outside and popped the umbrella open. The wind whooshed. The umbrella flipped inside out.
Puddles tugged and grunted. He pulled the umbrella right side in again. 'Got it,' he said to himself.
He spotted a small puddle near the path. With a leap, he landed with a tiny plop. Only a small splash.
Puddles frowned. His beak pressed into his feathers. 'I want a bigger splash,' he thought.
Then he saw a larger puddle by the fence. He charged forward, but the wind caught his umbrella and lifted him up.
He let go and dove down. SPLASH! Water rocketed up, and a rainbow dropped on his head. Puddles froze, then wiggled with delight.
He jumped again and again, leaving the umbrella behind. Rain tapped his back, but Puddles was already dancing.
