POP! Every lamp in the bamboo house went dark. پو dove beneath the quilt as night whispered through the open window.
The quilt lifted a little. “Was that all?” پو wondered, while the dark room listened.
One paw reached out. Click, click—the lamps stayed dark, so پو curled beside the soft quilt.
A tiny glow drifted through the open window. It hovered above the quilt, blinking once.
Blink, blink! The little light flashed again. پو vanished under the quilt, leaving only a trembling blanket peak.
The glow softened. Slowly, پو peeked out and followed it toward the window.
Outside, bamboo leaves shimmered. The firefly danced across the valley like one tiny star.
The firefly settled on the windowsill. Its glow became soft as a whisper.
