brave, mischievous, cheerful

greed and the joy of friendship

Pyrro swooped over the sunny valley and gobbled every animal on the busy trails. Soon, the paths were empty.

Pyrro licked the last crumb from a claw and roared. “Raaaar!” The mountain wind whispered through the empty paths.

Pyrro guarded a huge pile of bones on the highest mountain. Far below, the valley waited without a sound.

A brave lion climbed the steep path and roared, “Give them back!” Pyrro puffed smoke, but the stones rattled beneath that mighty roar.

Before Pyrro could chase the lion, a blazing asteroid flashed across the sky. It crashed beside the mountain with a thunderous boom.

A mighty mammoth stumbled from the shaking slope. Pyrro, the lion, and the mammoth tumbled downhill as rocks bounced like balls.

Pyrro opened wide to eat the lion and mammoth. Then the asteroid rolled toward them, faster and faster.

Pyrro grabbed the two attackers and held them safely above the rushing stones. The mountain shook, so Pyrro stopped to listen.

At last, the rumbling stopped. Pyrro carried the lion and mammoth down toward the valley, away from the broken mountain.

Pyrro opened the mountain pile and shared its food. The lion brought a shiny pebble, and the mammoth sprayed a playful trunkful of water.

Pyrro laughed as water splashed everywhere. Soon, footsteps returned to the trails, followed by roars, trumpets, and happy splashes.

The trails hummed with life again. Pyrro listened to the footsteps, roars, and splashes—and stayed beside his new friends.
