Ribbit the frog stopped hopping. The meadow shivered with a deep rumble.
He pressed flat against the warm stone. The ground hummed beneath him, but he stayed very still.
Ribbit crept toward the sound and parted a giant fern. A young dinosaur was tangled in a thick vine.
'Oh dear,' croaked Ribbit. The dinosaur's shoulders slumped.
Ribbit pulled the vine, but it snapped back with a soft pop. He fetched a long twig and wedged it under the knot.
The vine loosened just a little. The dinosaur's tail gave a hopeful flick.
With a final heave, the vine burst free with a loud twang. The dinosaur stumbled forward, then bowed his big head.
'Thank you, little green friend,' he rumbled. Ribbit puffed out his chest, then offered a juicy berry from his pouch.
They walked together through the sunny meadow until they reached the forest clearing.
Three larger dinosaurs waited there. The young dinosaur ran to them, his tail thumping happily.
He turned back and blew a kiss that rustled the leaves. Ribbit waved with both front limbs.
Ribbit hopped home through the golden meadow, feeling just a little bit like a hero.
