At dusk, the baby dinosaur-like creature tiptoed past a sleeping mailbox. His tail knocked over a recycling bin — clatter! Two children peeked from behind a hydrangea bush.
"It's lost!" the girl whispered. The boy pulled out a handful of glow sticks. They lined them along the sidewalk — but one by one, they flickered and died.
The baby dinosaur-like creature hid behind a red stop sign, claws clicking nervously. The boy marched to the sidewalk edge where a streetlight hummed above them.
They gathered pinecones, bottle caps, and shiny wrappers. The baby dinosaur-like creature dragged a bright silver wrapper with its nose, tail thumping gently.
A car passed, its headlights sweeping the path. Every object burst into glowing light — the perfect trail home! The baby dinosaur-like creature cheered.
They raced along the glowing path, splashing through puddles that mirrored the light. The baby dinosaur-like creature bounded over a garden gnome with happy chirps.
At the edge of town, the sky turned deep purple. A giant shadow stretched across the horizon — enormous legs and a long, gentle neck.
"Mommy!" The baby dinosaur-like creature bolted forward with a mighty roar. The mother dinosaur lowered her great head and nuzzled her baby with a rumble that shook the leaves.
The children waved as the mother dinosaur guided her baby back toward the trees. She let out one last gentle rumble before disappearing into the dark woods.
At dawn, the glowing trail still shone along the sidewalk. Every evening since, a tiny set of footprints led back to the woods.
